Youth Killed in Canyon Wreck

Creighton (Clayton) Smith, 16, was instantly killed Wednesday night when the car in which he was riding overturned on a dugway up Huntington canyon, pinning him underneath the wreckage. He was the son of Mrs. Joseph Smith of Wattis and was employed at the coal camp.

The accident occurred when Derrel (Deelavar) Smith, driver of the machine, lost control of the Ford truck in which the two boys and two girls were riding. The car toppled over the bank and caught the occupants underneath the truck about twelve feet below. The others were not seriously injured.

Dr. Hill took the body to the Holt home at Huntington. Funeral services will be held at Elmo.
