DALLAS CENTER - A funeral for John H. Clayton, 97, of Marshall, Mo. was held March 22, 1988 at Brandt Funeral Home here. Mr. Clayton died of cancer on March 18 at a nursing home in Marshall. Burial was in Clayton Cemetery in Van Meter.
Mr. Clayton was born in Van Meter and had lived in Dallas Center for 30 years before moving to Missouri six years ago. He was a member of the Van Meter United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, John W. of Plainview, Texas and Melbourne M. of Des Moines; two daughters, Roberta Wolf of Marshall, Mo. and Bunny Simmons of Waukee; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
