Ermagean Saylor, 78, of 17319 rte 68 Sligo PA, passed away following a period of declining health, Friday, February 19, 2016 at Clarview Nursing Home.

Born February 20, 1937 in Reidsburg, Clarion Co.,PA, she was the daughter of Villard and Ruth (Klingensmith) Byers.

Ermagean graduated from Clarion High School in 1955. Ermagean married John W. Saylor on August 25, 1956 and he survives.

She was a member of the Grace Community Church in Curllsville. Ermagean and John started Saylors Farm in the early 1960s raising strawberries. The business became a popular employment for area teens to make extra money. Later the business evolved to other crops and a manufacturer of wood agricultural products. Ermagean was a big part of the business, working in the fields, waiting on customers and doing much of the secretarial and book keeping duties. She also enjoyed baking, canning, sewing, crocheting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Ermagean is survived by her husband, John of 59 years, a son, Mark J. Saylor and his wife, Beth of Sligo, five daughters; Brenda J. Over and her husband Jerry of Reidsburg, Rita Smith of Sligo, Regina Westover and her husband David of Fairmount City, Teresa Jo Anderson and her husband Brian of New Bethlehem, and Lisa L. Remmick and her husband John of Sligo. 16 grandchildren; Jonathan, Joshua, and Johanna Over, Maria, Wesley, and Angela Smith, Claire and Adam Saylor, Rachael and Zachary Westover, Corbin, Jordan, Noah and Olivia Anderson, and Jay and Ethan Remmick.

She is also survived by two brothers; Villard Byers Jr. of Chambersburg PA and Nelson Byers and his wife Debbie of New Bethlehem, brother in laws, Harry Mong of New Castle, Fred Saylor of Florida and sister in laws, Phyllus Byers of Clarion PA, Jane Aites and husband, Junior and Pearl Seybert of Rimersburg and Pat Saylor of Sligo and many nieces and nephews.

Ermagean was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Paul Byers, sisters Romaine Mong, Martha Mae Reed, Ruth Ann Switzer, a granddaughter, Leah Remmick, and son in law, Danny Smith.

Ermagean's family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Monday February 22, 2016 at Varner Funeral Home in Sligo. Her funeral service will be at 11 am Tuesday from the Grace Community Church in Curllsville with pastor Dan George officiating. Interment will follow in the Reidsburg Cemetery.
