A native of Greenup, IL., he was born November 1, 1870 to Henry Harrison and Amanda Barnes Bell and when first moving to Chrisman, he worked in a sawmill later becoming a drayman. He was married to Miss Nora Reynolds who died 30 years prior and later to Miss Mary Lunger who preceded him in death in 1936.
Surviving are seven children, Mrs. Bertha Estes, Miss Eunice Bell and Mrs. Esther Powall of Danville, Il., Mrs. Elizabeth Simms, Miss Beatrice Bell and Tommie Bell all of Chrisman, Il., and Robert Bell of Flat Rock, Il.; a brother Charles Bell, and three sisters Mrs. Laura Miller, Mrs. Susie Eveland and Mrs. Minnie Eveland all of Greenup, Il.
Funeral services will be Monday at Scotts Funeral Home. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Chrisman, Il.
