PHILIP HAMMOND WELTY, age 64, 200 West South Street, husband of Irene Shankel Welty, died at Frederick Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon. Mr. Welty was born in Frederick, the son of the late Scott S. and Virginia D. Franklin Welty.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Philip Hammond Welty, Jr., Yellow Springs; Scott F. Welty, Braddock Heights; three daughters, Doris Irene Welty, at home; Mrs. Constance M. Stanley, Triangle, Va.; Mrs. Virginia R. Trost, Baltimroe; stepson, Charles E. Hargett, Feagaville; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was employed at Fort Detrick. He was the last of his immediate family.
Services were held at this residence; interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery; M.R. Etchison and Son were the funeral directors.
