Edward Campbell

Sweetwater - Edward Lee Campbell, Sr., 60, died Wednesday at a local hospital after a short illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at McCoy Funeral Home with the Rev. Malcolm Brown officiating. Military graveside services will be at Sweetwater Cemetery.

Mr. Campbell was born in Nolan County and lived in Sweetwater all of his life. He served in the Navy during World War II.

He was a mill maintenance foreman for U. S. Gypsum in Sweetwater. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Smith Campbell of the home; a daughter, Martha Rippy of Sweetwater; four sons, Lark Campbell, Eddie Campbell and Randall Campbell all of Sweetwater and Joel Campbell of Big Spring; four sisters, Una Wade Brasuell and Sena Laura Hollingshead, both of Grand Prairie, Birdie Stamps of Irving and Mattie Hestand of Roscoe; three brothers, Billy Jo Campbell of Amarillo, Loyd Campbell of Roscoe and John Campbell of Sweetwater; and two grandchildren.
