Howard Boone Lodge, 91, of 479 Riverview Drive, Milton, Ky., died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at The Waters at Clifty Falls.

He was born March 24, 1910, in Madison, the son of Irwin L. and Anna E. Langhofer Lodge. He owned and operated the former Lodge Brothers Furniture and Appliance Store in Madison for 54 years. He was commander of the Madison unit of the Indiana National Guard before World War II, and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Drusilla O. Tripp of Milton, Ky.; one son, Howard Boone Lodge Jr. of Cobb Mountain, Calif.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one niece; and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Drusilla Lanier Lodge, in 1987; his second wife, Betty M. Lodge, in 1995; a son, Irwin Lamont Lodge, in 1991; three sisters, Jessie Lodge, Emile Lodge and Jeanne Lodge Bunton; and five brothers, Robert, Chester, John P. "Jack", Gavin and William L. Lodge.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Christ Episcopal Church, with a reception for family and friends in the Great Hall of the church immediately after the service. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery.

The American Legion, Jefferson Post 9 will conduct a military graveside service at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.

There will be no visitation.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Christ Episcopal Church or to the relief fund for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Donations can be sent to National Disaster Fund, the Salvation Army National Headquarters, 615 Slaters Lane, Alexandria, VA 22313. Cards will be available at the church.
