Samuel Nathaniel (Nat) Broach, Jr., 90, of 705 Broach Road, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015. He was a native of Person County, born on the frost covered morning of October 2, 1925 and was the eldest of four children born to the late Samuel Nathaniel and Alice Virginia Scoggin Broach. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Willie Ree Lunsford Broach, a sister, Ann Broach Whitfield and a brother, Albert B. Broach. Mr. Broach was the former owner of Mitchell's Seafood.
Mr. Broach was survived by three children and their spouses: Larry Nathaniel Broach and wife, Patsy, of Burlington; Deborah Broach Kendrick and husband Maynard of Hurdle Mills and Christi Broach Epps and husband Ronnie of Roxboro, a sister Iris Broach Wrenn of Roxboro; a sister-in-law, Polly Broach, of Hurdle Mills; four grandsons: Chad Kendrick and his partner Michelle of Hurdle Mills, Kyle Kendrick of Towson, MD, Nikki Freeman of Lumberton, and Larry Broach, Jr. and wife Kris of Chesapeake, VA; four great-grandchildren: Makayla Kendrick and her partner Eric, Matthew Kendrick, Gracie Broach & Paisley Broach; one great-great granddaughter, Alayna Frazier and step-grandson, Eddie Watson.
Visitation was held from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Brooks & White Chapel.
Funeral Services were conducted 2:00 PM Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Brooks and White Chapel by Elder Jimmy Gray and Elder Cleo Robertson. Burial followed in the Broach family plot at Wheelers Primitive Baptist Church near Gordonton.
Pallbearers were Larry Broach, Jr., Coleman Whitfield, Marty Whitfield, Bruce Wrenn, Sammy Wrenn, Ryan Stone, and Al Stone. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Chandler, Darrell Huff, Terry Hill, Don Hill, and Buck Kirk.
