RITES HELD TUESDAY FOR FARM WOMAN
Nora Springs - Funeral services for Mrs. William A. Kelley, 58, were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mason City Tuesday, the Rev. Father Arquitt singing the requiem mass. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery at Dougherty. She died Saturday at her farm home north of Nora Springs Saturday after a long illness.
Mrs. Kelley, nee Mary Gallagher, was born in Dougherty, Sept. 15, 1892, the oldest of 14 children of John and Susan McCarran Gallagher. She moved to Minnesota with her parents in the spring of 1920, and there she was married to William Kelley of Dougherty in the Immaculate Conception Church at Sedan, Minn., on Oct. 7, 1920. They made their home on a farm near Dougherty for a number of years, and had farmed in the Nora Springs community for the past 15 years.
The Kelleys had three children, all of whom survive their mother. They are Robert Kelley of Nora Springs, Mrs. Vern (Dorothy) Jacobson of Charles City, and Pvt. Tom Kelley, who arrived home a few days before his mother's death from a Seattle, Wash., port of embarkation.
In addition to her husband and three children, Mrs. Kelley is survived by five sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Harold (Ann) McCarthy of Kennewick, Wash., James Gallagher of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Joe (Theresa) Imdieke of Brooten, Minn., Mrs. Bill (Helen) Casey of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. John (Genevieve) McInnes of Rockford, Ill., Edward Gallagher of Rockford, Ill., Raymond Gallagher of Nora Springs, and Mrs. Gene (Kathleen) Campbell of Rockford, Ill. Her mother, Mrs. Susan Gallagher of Rockford, Ill., also survives; and there are four grandchildren.
