TWO KILLED IN TRACTOR ACCIDENT
Rockford - Stanley P. Coyle, 40, rural Rockford, and Raymond Gallagher, 52, rural Rockwell, were killed instantly Saturday when the tractor they were riding overturned and pinned them underneath.
Sheriff's officers said the men were on the tractor, pulling a hayrack on a county gravel road, 5 1/2 miles southeast of Rockford. The tractor overturned as they were crossing a culvert. The bodies were found about 5:30 p.m. by Roger Hanson, who farms nearby.
Raymond Gallagher, son of John and Susan McCarren Gallagher, was born Aug. 20, 1916 at Dougherty. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 and worked on farms in Cerro Gordo and Floyd counties.
He is survived by a brother, Ed Gallagher, Rockford, Ill.; five sisters, Mrs. Anne MCarthy, Placentia, Calif., Mrs. Joe (Theresa) Imdieke, Melrose, Minn., Mrs. William (Helen) Casey, St. Paul, Mrs. Genevieve McInnes, Rockford, Ill, Mrs. Gene (Kathleen) Campbell, Byron, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and a sister.
Requiem High Mass for Mr. Gallagher will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockwell. The Rev. Raymond Bohrer will be the celebrant. A parish Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel in Mason City. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Dougherty.
