Annie was born to Thomas & Rebecca Griffin in Nova Scotia, Canada in 1860, the youngest of nine children. They relocated to Wayland, a suburb of Boston, in about 1867, and were involved in a shoe manufacturing business, where Annie later worked. Her siblings were Harris, Alonzo, Daniel, Wallace, Remina "Mina" Churchill, Athelia Hill, Noble, and Florena "Rena" Stewart. Annie was married to Russell Frye, who also worked as a shoe maker, until his death in 1905. She later married Frank Remick, a grain commission merchant, in 1907. She survived both husbands, and died in 1928 in her hometown of Wayland.
