Jabez YORK is the tenth of thirteen children born to Jeremiah YORK IIIB and his wife Sarah ALLRED.

Jabez YORK age twenty nine married in 1823 to Tabitha SAVAGE age twenty five.

The five children of Jabez YORK and Tabitha SAVAGE are:

1. Alfred D YORK, b. 1823; d. 1865, VA, Civil War
2. John York, b. 1825; d. 1890
3. Mary Polly York, b. 1826, d. 1908
4. William Frank York, b. 1833; d. 1901
5. Sarah Ann York, b. 1840; d. 1901

According to the late Noda York Seal; Alfred Isaac LANE and Tabitha SAVAGE had a daughter named "Molsy" Martha (York) LANE (Find A Grave Memorial# 112408236). "Molsy" was apparently raised in the home of Jabez YORK and Tabitha SAVAGE.

Tobias York died when his daughter Tamar York was 7. So when Tamar York was married in 1841 to Anthony Hays her first cousin Alfred D York son of Jabez York was the bondsman. This financial commitment as a marriage bondsman connected Tamar York very close to her fist cousin Alfred D York to provide the necessary funds for her marriage bond.
