Dorcas "Darkis" YORK is the the second born child of thirteen children born to Jeremiah YORK III and his wife Sarah ALLRED in Randolph County, North Carolina. Dorcas is the sister of Seymore YORK who married Miriam "Mary Ann" BECK on 12 Jan 1802 in Randolph County, North Carolina.

Dorcas "Darkis" YORK age twenty five married Isaiah Springer BECK Sr age twenty six on 15 Nov 1804 in Randolph County, North Carolina.

Dorcas "Darkis" YORK and her husband Isaiah Springer BECK Sr along with her brother Seymore YORK and his new wife Miriam "Mary Ann" BECK and others joined a wagon train in 1804/1805 traveling into South Carolina. The York and Beck families lived the Pendleton District, Pickens County, South Carolina for almost twenty years before migrating into Rabun County and Carrol County, Georgia.
