Published in The Alton Telegraph, Alton, IL., Mon, March 19, 1979 - Pansy L. Covey, 42, of Meadowbrook, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:20 a.m. Sunday after being struck by a car on Route 140.
She was born in Columbus, Ky., daughter of Boyd C. Cole of Meadowbrook and the late Lela L. (Crane) Cole.
In addition to her father, surviving are her former husband, Paul Emmett Covey of Meadowbrook; four daughters, Connie Harstad of Moline, Ill. and Diane Logsdon, Marsha Logsdon and Angie Covey, all of Meadowbrook; five stepdaughters, Linda Miller and Judith Paul, both of Alton, Janet Schafer of Bridgeport, Conn., Anita Mitchell of Eldorado, and Debra Osborne of Gillespie; and a stepson, Tracy Covey of Bethalto.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren; a brother, Bobby Boyd Cole of East St. Louis; and a sister, Hilda Cole of Meadowbrook.
A daughter, a son and a sister preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at Smith Funeral Home in Bethalto where services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Robert Marks officiating. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens, Bethalto.
