Gladys was born August 9, 1923 in Cedar County, the daughter of Norman Levi and Etta Estella (Ford) Gritton. She married Eugene King on July 20, 1971 in Oakley, Illinois. Gladys was one of the first CNAs at the Solon Care Center and worked there for over thirty-three years. She often spoke of the many years she helped families and residents at the care center. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, listening to music, cross-stitching, her dog Angel June, and the time spent helping Gene working at the Legion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, her sisters and brothers Ivy Hennings, Ethel Safley, Vella Dickinson, Alberta Gritton, Warren, Walter, Harry, Vearl, Howard, and Albert Gritton.
