Edward M. Evans, 94, of Forest, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife, his daughters, and his grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, his brother and many extended family and friends. Edward retired as a Captain from the Merchant Marine after 44 years at sea. He lived his dream and dropped anchor on his beloved "Holding Ground Farm." Edward attended both Morgan's Church in Moneta and St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Lynchburg. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at 10 a.m. in Virginia Memorial Park, Forest. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a cancer research foundation of your choosing.Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
