Eugene "Gene" Foley
April 28, 1920 — June 11, 2006

Gene died Sunday at his home in Albany.

He was born in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Patric and Jennie (Martin) Foley. He grew up in Mitchell, S.D., and moved to Albany in 1937.

Gene married Irma Graber on June 4, 1940, in Albany. She died on Jan. 13.

Gene was a farmer for several years, did some mill work and became a contractor in 1947. He built a lot of commercial buildings for many years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Albany Amblers, International Order of Odd Fellows and the Eagles Lodge.

He is survived by children Dale Foley of Albany, Betty Zanger of Cupertino, Calif., and Larry Foley of Germany; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers Walt and Frank, and sister Mae Mydler.

Graveside service at Willamette Memorial Park.
