Since there are a number of Helvies it is possible this Lewis is not Rachel and John's son but the birth year matches the 1850 and 1860 census where a Lewis Helvie is living in Rachel Marshall-Helvie's household(born abt 1835 and 1836 on each census). Also the birthplace on the record is where Rachel and John Helvie are assumed to be living at that time.
