Stella Irene Emehiser, 87, died of cancer at the home of foster-daughter, Susie Veech in Grayson, Ky. Memorial services were held April 15 at Fisher's Funeral Home in Adel.

Stella Irene Emehiser was born Feb. 3, 1912 in Summersville, Mo. to Tom and Lola Anderson Mash. On Feb. 29, 1936 she married Ivyl Emehiser of Adel and live in Adel for the next 63 years. She worked in different stores around the square over the years. During her life she had been a member of the Adel Book Club, Adel Garden Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Rebekah's, Woman's Club, Centennial Committee and Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivyl; her parents; four brothers, James Allen, Grover William, and Wilbur Levi all of Dallas Center and Thomas Herbert of Burns, Tenn.; and two sisters, Talitha Flinn of Indianola and Alice Russell of Des Moines.

Se is survived by her foster-daughter, Susie and her husband, Dr. Michael Veech; foster-grandson and his wife, Nick and Dr. Marina Sehman of Evergreen, Colo.; foster-grandson, Steve Sehman of Tempe, Ariz.; five sisters, Wilmetta Crigler of Des Moines, hazel Findley of LaVeen, Ariz., Louise Scott of Grayson, Pearl Greif of Dallas Center, JoAnn Thomas and her husband, Norman of Dallas Center, and nieces and nephews.
