Glenn W. Slagle, Sr., age 93, of Longville, MN, died Saturday, February 7, 2015 at his home.

Glenn was born in 1921 to Charles and Anna Slagle in Inguadona Township, MN. He grew up in Longville and graduated in 1939 from Longville High School. Glenn entered the US Navy, serving from 1942 until 1945 and earned four bronze stars for his bravery. He was united in marriage to Helen Neururer on June 30, 1948 and they made their home in Longville. After 26 years with the Cass County Highway Department, Glenn retired in 1985 and then worked 22 more years for Lavallee Sanitation.

Glenn enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting with his sons.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, James; daughter, Anita; brothers, Ed, Roy, Minor, Frank and Kenneth; and sisters, Hazel, Gladys, Ef, Dorothy and Edna.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 66 1/2 years, Helen; six sons, Thomas (Julie), John (Sara), Robert (Margaret), Glenn (Karin) Jr., Anthony (Michelle), and Matthew; one sister Vern Trousil; 11 grandchildren, Jackie, Benji, Danny, Elizabeth, Emily, Ellen, Maggie, Brendon, Emma, Brenna and Kaspari; four great-grandchildren, Camelia, Ira, Connor, and Kenny.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
