Hoover Herbert Williams, 84, of Elkton passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Hoover was born March 3, 1930 in Rockingham County and was the son of the late Everett and Della Becks Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
Hoover was a member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Greenwood. He retired from Echo Brothers in Staunton. He enjoyed hunting the Massanutten Mountain and fishing in the Shenandoah River.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jarrels Williams; son, Everett Davis and wife, Deborah, of Tyson Corner; brothers, Harold Williams and Eddie Williams both of Elkton; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pastor Francis Bell and Pastor Ted Hott will conduct the funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
