Elizabeth Dalton Cardwell, the second daughter of Judge Richard Henry (1846-1931) and Katherine Howard Cardwell (1839-1909), was born in 1872. She married (1) Edmond Keith Taylor (1868-1912), son of John R. (1825-1904) and Sarah Winston Taylor (1831-1912). Their ten children were Richard Cardwell (1890-1975); Edmond Keith, Jr. (1891-1947); Howard Winston (1893-1949); Dalton (1894-1975); Conway Robinson (1895-99); Lucy Crump (1897-1981); Robert Marshall (1900-76); Marion Pope (1903-82); Francis Adams (1907-70) who was the third generation of the Taylor family to serve as clerk of Hanover County, Va.; and James Hunter Taylor (1910-11). She married (2) Dabney Herndon Echols (1866-1935).

Richard Cardwell Taylor (1890-1975) lived in Harrisonburg, Va. He married in 1914, Mary Gillespie Sprinkel (1891-1941), daughter of Walter Nelson (1863-1943) and Williette Gillespie Sprinkel (1868-1940), of Harrisonburg, Va. Their four children were Ellen Warren (1915-2002); Sally Carter (1917-2004); Richard Cardwell, Jr. (1919-2005); and Walter Nelson Taylor (1924-2012)(URichmond 194_). The latter married and children were Walter Nelson, Jr. (1953-83), and Page Derieux Taylor who married Clyde Monroe Reece, Jr. Sally Carter Taylor (1917-2004) married Aubrey Nelson Hall (1915-2002). Two children were Margaret who married a Poole; and Carter Nelson Hall. Ellen Warren Taylor (1915-2002) lived in Oak Ridge, Tn. and married Howard Woodside (1912-58). Their daughters were Ellen Warren who married J. Neil Smith, of Dunwoody, Ga.; and Sally Carter Woodside who married Curtis Ward, of Oak Ridge. Five grandchildren were Catherine, Jeffrey and Grant Smith, and Jason and Elizabeth Ward.

Edmond Keith Taylor, Jr. (1891-1947) married in 1918, Rosalie Harrison Sprinkel (1887-1932). Their son was Edmond Keith Taylor III (1930-91).

Dalton Taylor (1894-1975) married in 1919, Ruth Baker (1897-1958), daughter of Fred R. (1863-1935) and Kizziah Baker (1866-1944), of Athens, Oh. He served in WWI and lived in Alexandria, Va. Their children were Ruth D. (c1920-) who married George B. Gibson; and Edmund Dalton Taylor (1932-81) who served in the Marine Corps in Korea, married and had five children who were James E., Samuel D., Ruth P., Michael Keith and Elizabeth Katherine Taylor. The latter married Harold Lee Morris, and their daughter was Elizabeth Katherine Morris.

Lucy Crump Taylor (1897-1981) married in 1918, John Claude Lee (1895-1979), son of John Bennett (1860-1943) and Carrie Emmeck Lee (1855-1937), of Spring Gardens, Va. He served in WWI, and they moved to Cameron County, Tx. Their five children were Elizabeth Dalton (1922-2021), twins Cpt.John Bennett (1924-2012) and Edmond Keith (1924-), LTC Harry Emmick (1933-2019) who married in 1956, Mary Jane Lohr (1934-2014); and Frances Caroline Lee (b.1932) who married a Whitlark, and their daughter is Pamela Sue Whitlark (b.1957). Elizabeth Dalton Lee (1922-2021) married in 1942, Charles Wilson Cline (1920-2005). Their children are Carolyn Lee and Robert Joseph Cline. Edmond Keith Lee (1924-) married in 1951, Masie Mae Hooker. Their children are Annie Laura, Teressa Jane and Kimberly Virginia Lee.

Robert Marshall Taylor (1900-76) married Elsie B. Bowles (1903-87), of Montpelier, Va. Their sons were Col. Robert W. (1925-2010) who lived in Vacaville, Cal., and Bowlman Gray "Grady" Taylor (1927-2007).

Marion Pope Taylor (1903-82) married in 1930, Lucile Patterson Mundy (1909-83). Their daughter, Joanna Patteson Taylor (1934-2013)(MedColVa 1957), lived in Suffolk, Va. and married Dr. William Hopwood Higinbotham, Jr. (1934-2011)(VMI 1956)(MedColVa DMD 1962) who was a 1st lieutenant in the Army. Their children are William Edward who married Edith Saecker; Susan Leigh who married Michael Lee Connor; and Mary Keith Higinbotham who married Daniel Thomas Floyd.
