VALPARAISO -- Gerald J. Gast, 86, of Valparaiso died Thursday, May 16, 1991, at Porter Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 11, 1905, in Porter County, the son of Andrew T. and Hanora J. (Fitzgerald) Gast, who preceded him in death.
A lifelong area resident, he retired from Indiana General as a foreman after 32 years of service.
Surviving are his wife, Eva; one brother, Thomas of Grovertown; three sisters, Frances Shearer, Katheryne Christy and Ellen Ritz, all of Valparaiso.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Edward.
Services 11 a.m. Monday at Dykes Funeral Home, Valparaiso; Msgr. John J. Charlebois officiating; burial in Graceland Cemetery; visitation 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home; memorials to Porter County Cancer Society.
