The funeral of Daniel O. Abbe of No. 1,623 Park street, who died suddenly Wednesday [7 Oct] at Truro, Mass., was held yesterday afternoon at Grace Episcopal Church, New Park avenue, this city. Rev. Frederick F. B. Nason, the rector, officiated. The church choir, under the direction of the organist, Lester Marsh, a son-in-law of Mr. Abbe, sang "Hark, Hark, My Soul." "The Church Is One Foundation," "Peace, Perfect Peace" and "O, What the Joy and Glory Must Do." The bearers were Earl H. Abbe of Longmeadow, Mass. and Harry B. Parker of South Windsor and L.C. Noyes, James C. Edgerton, H.L. Covey and Warren S. Kneeland of this city. The burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery, Windsor Locks.

Mr. Abbe was a resident of Windsor Locks for many years, up to fifteen years ago, being engaged in the harness business there prior to coming to Hartford to enter the employ of the Smith-Worthington Company, harness manufacturers. For some time, he was the Windsor Locks correspondent of "The Courant." He retired a few years ago on account of ill health and spent the last eight summers at the summer residence of his son, Dr. Leslie P. Abbe of this city, at Truro, on Cape Cod. It was here that he was suddenly attacked by angina pectoris and died.

Mr. Abbe was 69 years old, a native of East Windsor. His first wife, Fannie A. (Parker) Abbe died many years ago. His second wife, Emma (Gallagher) Abbe died three years ago. He leaves three sons, Dr. Abbe of this city, Earl Clifton Abbe of Longmeadow, Mass., and Russell E. Abbe of Park road, West Hartford; and three daughters, Mrs. Robert H. Dickson of Irvington, N.J., Amelia Irene Abbe of No. 1,623 Park street, this city, and Mrs. Lester Marsh of No. 62 Donlauger avenue, West Hartford, and six grandchildren. Mr. Abbe was a member of Grace Church and was for many years a member of the vestry of St. Paul's Church, Windsor Locks. He was a member of Capitol Lodge, New England Order of Protection, representatives of which participated in the funeral service.
