YVONNE WILLIAMS
Yvonne"Vonnie"Williams'journey began in Lebanon,KY on
September 7,1941.Born to Thomas and Ruth(Shively)Williams.
Vonnie was the 5th born of nine siblings and the baby girl
of the family.She was raised in Campbellsville,KY until
age 10.She later moved to Louisville,KY where she attended
Central High School.
Yvonne was a joy to know.She was extremely outgoing,
articulate and endearing.She was a "Jill of All Trades"and
business savvy.Full of wisdom and advice,which she
frequently shared with her family.She'd quickly tell you
"Uh-Uh,God don't like ugly!"and she would promise to
"Knock your heart out!"if you got out of line.She was
often seen with a bible in her hands or nearby.Yvonne came
to Christ as a child and was a faithful member of Little
Flock Missionary Baptist Church.Vonnie was a retired
Phillip Morris employee with over 25 years of service.
She raised three sons,Leonard Harbin Sr.,Timothy Harbin
and Edmund Mattingly.She was a second mother to Somine'
Phillips,Phyliss Parker and Teresa Farris whom she helped
raise;as well as other nieces and nephews.
Yvonne is preceded in death by both parents,siblings:
Ernestine Parker-Groves,Hattie Portis,Joseph Williams Sr.,
Frances Bridgewater,and David Williams.She leaves to
cherish her loving memory her children:Leonard"Tyrone"
Harbin Sr.,Timothy"Tim"Harbin(Theresa)and Edmund"Eddie"
Mattingly;(3)brothers;James Williams(Beverly)of
San Antonio,TX.,Gordon Williams Sr.,and Wayman Williams
(Linda)of Louisville,KY.;(8)grandchildren,Leonard Jr.,
Terrell,Christina,Timothy,Terrence,Jay'shawn,Paige and
Myrissa;and a great-granddaughter,Laisha,as well as,a host
of other nieces,nephews,family members and friends.
A limb has fallen from the family tree that says do not
grieve for me.Remember the best times,the laughter,the
song,the good life I lived while I was strong.
