Mrs. Ernestine Parker Groves was born in Taylor County, Oct. 11, 1935, and departed this life Jan. 15, 1980, at Taylor County Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Williams and Mrs. Ruth Shively Williams. She professed faith in Christ at an early age and joined Burdick AME Church. She was united in marriage to Lattie Parker who preceded her in death. To this union two children were born. She is survived by her husband: Willie Groves; one son: Gregory W. Parker; one daughter: Phyllis Parker, all of Campbellsville; also her mother: Mrs. Ruth Williams; three sisters: Mrs. Frances Bridgewater, Mrs. Hattie Portis, Mrs. Yvonne Mattingly, Louisville; five brothers: Joseph, David, Gordon, and Wayman Williams, all of Louisville, and Sgt. James Williams, Air Force, Bellville, Illinois; one granddaughter: Pamela Parker, Campbellsville, and a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 18, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Rev. G. F. Smith officiated. Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery. B. J. Brown Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and burial.
