Tentis D. Dixon age 82 of Varnamtown died June 10, 2014.
Mr. Dixon was born in Varnamtown on December 29, 1931 and was the son of the late Albert "Shucky" Dixon and Ava Ludlum Dixon. He was a lifetime commercial fisherman. He was predeceased by a son, Tan Dixon, a brother and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Anderson Dixon; three sons, Randy Dixon, Tentis Dixon, Will Moore all of Supply; four daughters, Helen Faye Dixon, Kaye Cate, Christy Melton, Tina Noble all of Supply; a brother, Gerald Dixon of Supply; four sisters, Marlene Varnam of Supply, Shirley Little of Whiteville, Myrtie Moore of Currie, Elsa Mae Deal of Burgaw and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday June 13, 2014 at 2pm at Dixon Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Bobby Norton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times from the home of Marlene Varnam, 175 Varnamtown Rd.
