WILMINGTON MORNING STAR / SATURDAY, MAY 2, 1998

SUPPLY - Clyde Robert Dixon 78, of Stanbury Road, SW, died Thursday. April 30, 1998, in Columbia Brunswick Hospital.
He was born in Brunswick County on August 30, 1919, a son of the late Albert Lee and Beulah Hewett Dixon. He was a retired from the U.S. Civil Service and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of the VFW and the abuit choir Sharon United Methodist Church. He was the father of the late Vera Priscilla D. Varnum.
Surviving are his wife, Mamie Hewett Dixon of the home; four sons, Allen Dixon, Donnie and Jimmy Kirby, All of Supply, N.C.; and Bobby Kirby of Holden Beach, N.C.; two brothers, Tentis and Gerald Dixon, both of Supply, N.C.; four sisters, Matlene Varnam of Supply, N.C., Myrtie Moore of Currie, N.C., Elsie Mae Deal of Burgaw, N.C., and Shirley Little of Whiteville, N.C.; four grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funereal services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday. May 3, 1998. at Sharon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lynn Wall, Rev. Tracie Varnum and the Rev. R.C. Dixon. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 1998, at the funeral home.
