Susanna Elisabeth Hemler was born about 1767 and married Joseph Obold, the son of Sebastian Obold, and they became the parents of these children:

1. Catherine Obolt was born on July 11, 1788, married William Gulden, and died August 10, 1861. (McSherry, William, "History of Saint Aloysius Church of Littlestown, Pennsylvania" page 60) N.B. her FindaGrave memorial gives her birthday as October 29, 1788, but both of these dates are unsourced.

2. Barbara Obold, the daughter of Joseph, married Jacob Noel, the son of Blasius, on July 3, 1828 at Conewago Chapel. One of the attendants was her brother, Sebastian Obold. "3 Julii 1828 Jacobus Noel (Blasii) matrimonio conjunctus est cum Barbara Obold (Josephi) praesentibus Sebastiano obold fratre Sponse et Josepho Sansbury." (Conewago Chapel Marriage Register page 255)

Barbara and Joseph Noel's daughter Aloysia Catharina was born on June 25, 1829, and baptized on September 20th at Conewago Chapel.

There is an 1833 burial entry for Barbara Noel at Conewago Chapel. Although this entry is traditionally for Barbara (Doll) Noel, there is no way to accurately assign the burial to either Barbara Noel. "1833 1 2 May Barbara uxor Noël provisa" (Conewago Chapel Burial Records page 287)

3. "22 febr 1794 4 martii 1794 Sebastianus filius josephi et Susannae obol patrini: Sebastianus et magarita Obol" (Conewago Chapel Baptismal Registry page 13)

4. "17 febr 1800 18 febr 1800 Francisca Catharina Appollonia filia josephi et Susannae elisabethae obold Spons. R. Brosius et catharina Hemler" (Conewago Chapel Baptismal Registry page 31)

"Apollonia" married Joseph Topper, the son of Andrew Topper and Margaret Brown. They were the parents of Henrietta Clementia, Sylvester Nicholas, Joseph Adam, Sophia Margaret, Eliza, William Francis, John Henry, and possibly Andrew. "Abby" was alive during the 1860 US Census on July 11th, living in Wauponsee, Grundy County, Illinois. Joseph then married Mary Lee, (widow of Mr. Clegg?), on May 4, 1861. Joseph died December 29, 1885 in Morris, Grundy County, Illinois.

5. "regeneratio 3 octobris 1802 herman joseph filius josephi obolt et Susannae elisabeth thae(:hemler Spons joseph hellberath, barbara kuinder" (Conewago Chapel Baptismal Registry page 47)

"1804 2 8ber 4 Susanna Obold" (Conewago Chapel Burial Register page 270)

N.B. Her sister-in-law Susanna Reinnecker Obold was buried in the same cemetery in 1837.

Her husband Joseph Obold is often confused with another Joseph Obold, who married Mary Margaret Shorb and is the son of Joseph Obold.
