Direxy C. Campbel was a daughter of Hannah (Whithey) (Campbell) Orvis, who was a widow when she married Josephus Orvis, older brother of Simeon Victor Orvis. James Campbell, known as Judge Campbell, lived in St. Regis, N. Y., but died in Canada at the home of a daughter. He is said to have been a descendant of the Duke of Argyle, Scotland.
