Anna (Jameson-Langlie) Johnson was the daughter of Jens (Severson) and Anna (Hanson) Langlie. Census records indicate that she was born in February of 1873 in Norway, and emigrated to the United States with her parents and four siblings in 1880 or 1881.

She married Adolph Johnson on the 27th of May in 1895 at New Richland in Waseca County, Minnesota. She lived with Adolph's parents for a short time after their marriage, before moving with Adolph to Bath Township in Freeborn County, MN, where they rented a farm and had three of their eleven children.

Anna and her husband Adolph relocated to Turtle Lake, McLean County, ND in about 1902, where they purchased a 160 acre farm five years later in 1907. They stayed there until some point during the 1920's, when Anna moved to Duluth, Minnesota.

The 1930 US Census records Anna Johnson at the age of 54, renting a house for $20/month with five of her children at 524 North 53rd Avenue West in Duluth, MN. She lists her marital status as 'Married', although she is also the 'head' of the household, and no spouse resides with her. She worked as a laundress at a local hospital.

The US Census of 1940 reveals that Anna Johnson was living at 626 Central Avenue in Duluth, MN, where she rented a house for $26/month. She was 67 years of age and working in a rug factory as a seperator, where she earned $720/year. She says that she completed 8 years of school in her youth. Living with her in 1940 were four of her adult children. She lists her marital status as 'Married' although she considers herself head of the household.

Anna gave birth to eleven children in all; four in Minnesota and another seven in ND. Further research is needed to determine which part of Norway she came from.

Per Minnesota death certificate #29708-1340, Anna passed away at 9:20 pm on December 31, 1947, in Miller Hospital, Duluth, where she had been under a doctor's care since December 15, 1947, for coronary occlusion due to arteriosclerosis. She is buried in Oneota Cemetery, Duluth, Minnesota.
