Edward was originally buried in Snow Cemetery, Petersham. His grave was moved in 1938-40 when they built the Quabbin Reservoir. NOTE: His last name is often spelled BABBITT.

He married Anna SMITH, daughter of David SMITH and Abigail GILBERT, 12 Sep 1793 in Norton. Sometime between 1800 and 1810, they moved to Petersham, MA. They had 10 children. About 1820, Anna became a Shaker (per the Babbit Family History Book) after her husband's death and she took her 4 youngest children to live with her at the Shakers Village, Harvard, MA.
