The marriage of Henry E. Fransisco and Frances A. Babbitt was celebrated at the bride's home, in Grass Lake, April 3, 1861. This lady was born in 1835, in New York, and is the daughter of Levi and Lucy (Winchester) Babbitt, who came to Grass Lake, in 1837, from Rochester, N. Y. Levi Babbitt was born in Massachusetts, January 30, 1805, and died in Grass Lake, October 20, 1860. He was one of those men who form one of the foundation stones of a community, and by his upright life and abilities of a high order, has obtained for himself a good position among his fellow-men. He was chiefly interested in farming, and accumulated a large property. Mrs. Lucy (Winchester) Babbitt was born April 23, 1807, at Petersham, Mass., and died at Grass Lake, April 15, 1874.
