Milek Kolars, son of Joseph and Frantiska Kolar was born in Jefferson twp., Republic county Kan. Sept. 8, 1882 and passed away at Wichita, Kan., May 18, 1967 at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 10 days.
He received his education in his native community. On Feb. 14, 1906 he was united in marriage to Blanche Houdek and they established their home near Wayne. To this union were born five children.
In 1912 the family moved to near Haddam. For the past two years he has resided in a rest home in Wichita.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sons, four sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Arthur and wife of Lockport, Ill., Edward and wife of Smith Center; daughter, Laura Killeen of Burbank, Cal.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Novak and Mrs. Mary Blecha of Belleville; one brother, James of Republic; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Cuba Presbyterian Church with Rev. Amos Rundus officiating. Interment was at Bohemian National Cemetery.
