William A. Niederer, 92, of rural Topeka, died January 2, 1987 at his residence. Services were held Monday, January 5, 1987, at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Havana, with burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

He was born September 23, 1894 in Mason County to Clemens L. and Kathryn Deverman Niederer; he married Wilhelmina "Minnie" Marie Nehmelman on April 3, 1918 in Easton. She died January 9, 1974.

Surviving are two sons: Stanley of Topeka; and Glenn of Rochester IN; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Porter of Havana. He was preceded in death by a son and three brothers.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Havana, American Legion Post 138 in Havana, and the Mason County Farm Bureau. He was a WWI veteran and a farmer in the Havana-Topeka area.
