MRS. DOROTHY I. NOLL, 92, a resident of Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, and formerly of 1614 W. North St., Waynesboro, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday, July 8, in the nursing home. She was in failing health for the past six weeks and critically ill the past two weeks.
Born May 10, 1899, in Blue Rock, Quincy Township, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Mentzer) Blubaugh. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
She and her husband, Clarence J. Noll, Sr., were married May 30, 1916. He died Jan. 3, 1957.
Mrs. Noll had lived at the West North Street residence for 20 years before entering the nursing home Dec. 19, 1989.
She had worked at the former Leiter's Clothing Store in Waynesboro and late at Knouse Foods in Ortanna.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and its Otterbein Workers Sunday School Class and Altar Guild.
She also was a member of the South Chapter No. 2977 of AARP and the national AARP.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Miriam E. Peters of Waynesboro; one son, Clarence J. Noll, Jr. of Waynesboro; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother and four sisters, Merle Blubaugh, Mae Siegrist, Mary Haugh, Hilda Brubaker and Anna Monn, all of Waynesboro.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Grove Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jay A. Saxe officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
