Born May 20, 1916 in Blue Rock, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Mentzer) Blubaugh. She lived most of her life in the Waynesboro area.
Mrs. Brubaker attended school in Tomstown, PA.
She and her husband, the late Merle R. Brubaker, were married on May 20, 1939 in Kernstown, VA. They moved to Waynesboro following the marriage. Mr. Brubaker died on August 22, 1972.
Mrs. Brubaker worked as a presser for Wayne Manufacturing in her early life. She later worked for Douglas's Pastry Shop, Waynesboro, for over 30 years and was known for her artistic cake decorating.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, where she was a member of the Rose Circle Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the National AARP and the Waynesboro Senior Center.
Mrs. Brubaker enjoyed camping, traveling, and volunteering her time.
She is survived by one daughter, Carla S. Laur of Sykesville, MD; one son, Dennis M. Brubaker, of Wood-ridge, NJ; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mae Siegrist of Quincy; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Dorothy Noll, Jennie Marie Rosenberger, Mary Haugh, and Anna Monn; and four brothers, Chauncey Blubaugh, Jacob Blubaugh, Henry Blubaugh, and Merle Blubaugh.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 19, 2005 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Rev. Dr. Lynn D. Trutt officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
