Son of Marshall and Ida May Williams, he married Sarah Roof, was a farmer in rural Polk, died in a barn on his farm, Sandy Lake Township, Mercer County, of suicide by gun shot, per death certificate 30219, whose informant was his wife. Buried Mar 30 1941.

Franklin News-Herald, Friday, Mar 28 1941:
Arthur C. Adams, 45, of Sandy Lake Township, Mercer County, was found death in his barn at the family home, five miles west of Polk at 12:50 pm Thursday, an apparent suicide. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Adams of Polk, born in that borough July 3, 1896.

He had been a farmer almost all his life. He was a past noble grand of Waterloo Lodge IOOF, and had always resided in the Polk district.

Surviving are his wife; children, Marshall Adams of Polk, Melvin Adams and Ida Margaret Adams, at home; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Leroy Smith, Olive Adams, Clarence Adams, Mrs. Herman Barnes, and Lester Adams of Polk, and Mrs. Delton White of Franklin.

Services will be at 2 pm Sunday at the family home, five miles west of Polk. Interment will be in Sandy Cemetery of Polk.
