Chester A. Chamberlain, 78, formerly of 627 Liberty St, died at 3:45 pm Wednesday in Corry Manor Nursing Home, Corry. He was born Oct. 4, 1902 in Royer, son of Archibald and Sarah Gunnett Chamberlain.

He spent his early life in Blair County where he attended public schools. He worked at the foundry at Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co., then at the General Manifold and Printing Company from 1948 until his retirement in 1962. He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Due to failing health in the past several years, he attended Seventh Street Church of God, teaching the F. H. C. Sunday School Class. He served as a lay preacher for many area churches, including Chapmanville Bible Church and the Burghill, Ohio, Baptist Church.

On April 10, 1926, he married Ada B. Perrin, who died Oct. 24, 1977.

Surviving are six daughters: Mrs. Robert S. (Maxine) Harris and Mrs. Gloria M. Phipps, both of Franklin; Darlene T. Chamberlain, Nyack, NY; Mrs. David (Sara) Jansen of Sydney, Australia; Mrs. Dale (Shirley) Hammerlee, both of Findley Lake, NY; and Mrs. Ronald (Audrey) Cole of Titusville; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Four brothers, Harvey, Otis, Guy and Leroy Chamberlain, and a sister, Mrs. Elwood (Cora) Evans, died previously.

Services will be at Huff Chapel with the Rev. Floyd C. McFarland, pastor of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, officiating. Interment will be in Graham Cemetery.
