MRS. SARAH E. (GUNNETT) CHAMBERLAIN
Widow of Archibald Chamberlain and a lifelong resident of Williamsburg and vicinity, died Thursday evening at 6:20 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elwood Evans of 615 West First Street, Williamsburg, death being attributed to a complication of ailments following an injury sustained in a fall several months ago when she suffered a fracture of the hip.
She was a daughter of George and Mary (Gray) Gunnett and was born at Royer April 11, 1865, and was united in marriage at Royer in September, 1884, with Archibald Chamberlain, who died several years ago.
Surviving are these children: Harvey of Williamsburg, R.D., Mrs. Elwood Evans and Leroy Chamberlain, both of Williamsburg, Orvis of Altoona and Charles and Guy Chamberlain, both of Franklin, and two brothers and two sisters; Benjamin I. and Arch Gunnett, Mrs. Bertha Brenzer and Mrs. Ida Yon, all of Altoona and thirty-five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Eight grandchildren are serving in the United States armed forces.
She was a charter member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Williamsburg and was educated in the Royer schools.
Friends will be received at the Evans home after 7 o'clock this evening.
CHAMBERLAIN - Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Chamberlain will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Royer Methodist Church in charge of Rev. Carl Price assisted by Rev. R. M. Glass, interment in the Royer cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Mrs. Elwood Evans home, 615 West First Street, Williamsburg, after 7 o'clock this evening.
