Though they do not have a tombstone, Mr. Morton Dalmer West, of Sampson County, NC, spent probably 30 to 40 years researching the West family in NC and GA, and he said Handy and Martha were buried in the Peters Family Cemetery. This cemetery is located off Midway Elementary School Road (SR-1476), near Spivey's Corner, Sampson Co., N.C.

The children of Handy West and Martha Dudley were: Ichabod (married Annie Catherine Blackman), Nancy (m. Simon Peter Jackson), John Handy (m. Nancy Herring), Coleen (m. William Edwin Bass), Lloyd (m. Phoebe Jane Hudson), Martha Jane (1st married Arthur Bennett Jackson and 2nd to Robinson Ward), Noel West (m. Mary E. West), William Allen (m. Annie Hinson), Rebecca A. (m. William Giles), Spicey (m. Young Allen West), Matilda Ann (single), Ritta Ann (single), and Jennette (m. Olin Jackson).
