Schuyler Grubbs, 81, died Friday in Mesa Lutheran Hospital at Mesa, Ariz.

Mr. Grubbs, born in Hammond, left the Calumet Region in 1959. He was a fireman on the Monon Railroad for 31 years and a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Fireman.

He is survived by his wife, Louise, of 1456 E. Second St., Mesa; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Haycock of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three sons, George, Don and James Rausch, all of Hammond; two brothers, Luri of Elgin, Ill., and Greeley of Hammond; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Green Acres Mortuary, Scottsdale. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Scottsdale.

NOTE: He was first married to Martha A Grubbs and had a son, Thomas M Grubbs and a daughter Dorothy Helen.

He married Louise Rausch in Florida in 1967. The Rausch's mentioned in this obit are step-children.

He was NOT born in Hammond, but in Lodi, Parke County, Indiana, where his parents are buried.
