HORSE SHOE - Mrs. Zora Metcalf Norton, 79, of Route 7 Hendersonville, died Saturday evening in a Hendersonville hospital after a long illness.
She was a native of Madison County, and a daughter of the late John F. and Georgia Ann Ferguson Metcalf. She was the widow of the late John C. Norton, who died in 1972.
Surviving are two sons, Levoyd Norton of Route 7 Hendersonville and Cleatus G. Norton of Asheville; two sisters, Mrs. Jesse Spears of Hendersonville and Mrs. Gertrude Rhymer of Asheville; five brothers, J. E. , H. M. and Clyde Metcalf of Morganton, H. E. Metcalf of Asheville and Floyd Metcalf of Woodruff, S.C.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Horse Shoe Baptist Church, of which she was a member.
The Revs. Jack Stafford and Cecil Warsham will officiate. Burial will be in Campground Cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers.
Shepherd and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
