Luella K. Lilley, 87, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at her home in Effingham, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Effingham, Illinois. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Effingham, Illinois. Luella was born Jan. 17, 1925, in Shelby County, Illinois, the daughter of Aloysius and Frances (Jurgens) Lilley. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham and the local Nine Patches Quilt Club. Luella first worked at Fedders Corp. and later worked in the bindery at World Color Press for more than 20 years. She married Melvin F. Lilley on May 8, 1946, and he preceded her in death in 1986.
She is survived by three sons, Garl (wife Lou), Gregory and Douglas, all of Effingham, Illinois; six daughters, Joyce Deters and Jane Lilley of Effingham, Illinois; Mary Ann Wines, Gail James and Betty Lilley, all of Watson, Illinois; and Patricia (Jerod) Miller of Effingham, Illinois; five sisters, Helen (Leonard) McKinney of Columbia City, Indiana; Margaret (Paul) Willenborg of Neoga, Illinois; Norma Otterson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Clara (Curtis) Stewarg of Helotes, Texas; and Joann Jamison of Teutopolis, Illinois; a brother, George “Jake” Bueker of Toledo, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and one sister.
