R. Lee Overstreet, 86, who was associated with Overstreet's Resort at Lake Manitou for 15 years, died at 1:40 a.m. today in the Rochester nursing home, where he had lived for the last two years. He had been seriously ill for about five months.

Mr. Overstreet was the father of Kenneth Overstreet, who operated the resort busines on the southwest side of Lake Manitou until selling it a few years ago. A 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge at Pittsboro, Indiana, Mr. Overstreet was a past master of the lodge. He also was a member of the Pittsboro Christian Church and of the Brightwood Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star at Indianapolis. He had been a farmer until he retired from that occupation in 1940. Mr. Overstreet was born in Lizton, Indiana, on Jan. 22, 1873, the son of Aaron and Catherine (Elder) Overstreet. On Jan. 23, 1879, he was married in Pittsboro to Julia Keeney, who died in 1938.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Max (Clarice) Davis, Speedway City, Indiana, two sons, Kenneth Overstreet, of Rochester and Noblesville, and Charles Overstreet, Sheridan; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A son, three sisters and five brothers preceded him in death.

Services in Rochester will be at the Foster & Good Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. C. A. Underwood officiating. The body then will be removed to the Gregory Funeral Home at Pittsboro. Services in Pittsboro will be in the Christian Church at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Raymond Ohaver officiating. Masonic rites also will be conducted. Burial will be in the K. of P. cemetery at Lizton.
Friends may call at the Foster & Good Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today and at the Gregory Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Thursday.

R. Lee Overstreet, a retired farmer of the Pittsboro community, died in the Rochester Nursing Home, Wednesday morning. He had been a resident of Rochester for the past 15 years and seriously ill for the past five months.

He was born in Lizton, January 22, 1873, the son of Aaron and Catherine Overstreet. He was married to the late Julia Keeney of Pittsboro, who died in 1938. He was a 50-year member and a past member of the Pittsboro Masonic Lodge, member of the Brightwood Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Pittsboro Christian Church.

Services will be this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the Foster & Good Funeral Home in Rochester. Masonic services will be conducted in the Pittsboro Christian Church, Friday afternoon, at 2:00 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. Raymond Ohaver. Friends may call after 7:00 p.m. today, at the Gregory Funeral Home, Pittsboro.
