Robert "Winnie" Pyle
Robert "Winnie Pyle, 39, 201 Sixth Ave., Derry, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, in the Latrobe Hospital.
Born in Derry May 20, 1961, he was a son of the late Scott and Leona Woodrow Pyle. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad as a Locomotive Engineer and was a veteran of World War II when he served with the U.S. Army in Iran and South Africa. He was a member of the Derry Presbyterian Church, The Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers and the Chestnut Ridge Post 444, Derry, of the V.F.W.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Patricia Amend Pyle, and five daughters, Patricia, Paula, Pamela, Penny and Peggy. Also, three brothers and two sisters: Eugene, Buffalo, N.Y.; John, Springdale; Mrs. Wilbur (Grace) Latimer, Blairsville; Glenn, Santa Ana, Calif.; Mrs. George (Mary) Dandoy, Latrobe.
Friends will be received at the Fisher Funeral Home, Derry, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily until Monday. Services will be conducted there at 2:30 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Lynn Meyers, his pastor, assisted by the Rev. William Dandoy, nephew of the deceased.
Interment will be in Coles Cemetery.
Military Services will be conducted at the graveside by the Chestnut Ridge V.F.W. Post 444.
