Obituary for Agnes L. Brewer

Agnes L. Brewer, 78 years, of Monroe, MI went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Medilodge of Monroe.

Born April 6, 1935 in Maynardville, TN, Agnes was the daughter of the late Lillard and Madge Beeler. The family moved to Monroe when Agnes was a child. Agnes attended Monroe Public Schools. Later in her life Agnes went back to school and received her GED from Monroe County Community College.

Agnes was a devout member of North Monroe Street Church of God Mountain Assembly where she sang in a trio for weddings and funerals. Agnes also served as the Secretary of, and taught Sunday School at the church for many years.

Agnes worked as a clerk for Kay-Bee Drug store for several years. Most of her years Agnes spent as a homemaker and caring for her family. Agnes enjoyed sewing, going out for dinner and watching the Gaither's on television. More than anything Agnes loved family.

Agnes is survived by three loving children: Homer Alan (Joann) Brewer of Monroe, Gayle (John) Hill of Monroe, and Linda (Tony) Marino of Grand Rapids, MI, five cherished grandsons: Ben, Dan, Matt, Mark, and Michael, four treasured great grandchildren: Abby, Lydia, Danika, Shelley and one on the way, Beau, two brothers: Donald Beeler of Flat Rock, MI and David (Jean) Beeler of Lupton, MI, and one sister: Ruby Braden of Monroe. In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by four brothers: Lillard, Jr., Glen, Jimmy, and Ronnie and a sister, Peggy Jones.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-7 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161, where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Michael Beeler, Agnes's nephew will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
