Carrie Lathrop Cheramie, 93, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, died at 10 p.m. July 1, 2003.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Golden Meadow. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial at the church mausoleum.

She is survived by her sons, Edward "Nue" and Roland "Roach" Cheramie; daughter, Bernice "Laloot" Griffin; brothers, Morrison and Lorris Lathorp; sisters, Doris Bouzigard, Georgianna Gaspard, Onise Galliano and Dorothy Sacco; 11
grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin "Taup" Cheramie; parents, Woodford and Leoncia Coron Lathrop; daughter, Mildred Doucet; brothers, Woodford, Bradford and Davidson Lathrop; and sisters, Lenora Pitre and Nora Anselmi.
