Matilda was the daughter of Valentine "Val" Zoromski & Jozefina Seraphina Koziczkowski.

She was married twice. Her first husband was Bernard Konopacki who she married on Feb. 6, 1882 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Polonia, Portage, Wisconsin, USA.

Her second husband was Marcin 'Martin" Stanislawski who she married in 1903.

Obituary

Mrs. Matilda Stanislawski, age 92, of Polonia, passed away on April 16th, 1956 at St. Michael's Hospital, where she had been a patient since April 7. She was a lifelong resident of Portage county, and is survived by 178 direct descendants.

The funeral was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Polonia. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Assisting is the Dzikoski Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stanislawski was born in the town of Sharon on Jan. 10, 1864, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Zoromski. She attended Sacred Heart school at Polonia as a girl.

She was married twice. Her first marriage, to Bernard Konopacki (1865-1900), took place on February 6th, 1882 in Polonia and the couple farmed in Sharon until his death on Feb. 23, 1900.

After Mr. Konopacki's death, his widow moved to Polonia and she was married there in 1913 to Marcin Stanislawski (1875-1915), who died June 16, 1915.

Mrs. Stanislawski continued to live in Polonia until her death. She had been bedridden for the past one and one-half years.

Surviving are five sons, Frank Konopacki, Milwaukee, John and Joseph Konopacki, Manitowoc, Nick Konopacki, Bay Pines, FL, and Alex Stanislawski., Pocatello, ID; five daughters, Mrs. Leo Glodowski, Stevens Point, Mrs. L.C. Rompella and Mrs. D.B. Smaglick, Milwaukee, Mrs. William Haendel, Wauwatosa, and Miss Florence Stanislawski, at home; 44 grandchildren; 123 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Two sons, a daughter and three brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. Stanislawski was a charter member of the Rosary society at Sacred Heart Church and was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.
