R BASSETT DIES TUESDAY

Roscoe Bassett, 60, died at 9 p.m. Tues at his home 816 West Adams Street, following a three-month illness.
Born Nov 1, 1890, in Tipton County, he was the son of Robert and Jane (Bird) Bassett. He was married to Grace Lee, April 8, 1909, in Alexandria. He was a lifelong member of the Church of God and was also pastor of Block Chapel north of Alexandria, and of a church in Jonesboro.
Business Activities
He was employed for many years at the Lippincott Glass Corporation and for 30 years was the distributor for newspapers here. For the last ten years, he owned and operated the Bassett Furniture Store on West Washington St.
Surviving are the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Peters; three sons, LeRoy, Wayne, and Earl, all of Alexandria; one half-sister Mrs. Belle Sanders, Kokomo; two brothers, Earnest Bassett, Muncie, and Frank Bassett, Niles Ohio.
Final rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of God. The Rev. Edgar Williams will officiate. Interment will be in Park View Cemetery.
